Our Story

ABOUT US

Project Roots AZ is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community garden based in Glendale, Arizona. We combat food insecurity by providing fresh produce from our garden and distributing it to the community through various distribution channels, such as home delivery for Seniors and families, food bank and pantry donations. Additionally, we offer educational workshops to empower individuals interested in growing their own food.

OUR MISSION

To create a more just and nourished world by advancing food justice through advocacy, hands-on education, and the equitable distribution of fresh, healthy food.

OUR DIVERSITY, EQUITY, ACCESS AND INCLUSION (DEAI) STATEMENT

Our mission centers on creating a more just and sustainable community by addressing food insecurity and promoting economic opportunities through urban agriculture. We actively work to ensure that all people, regardless of race, background, or socioeconomic status, have access to fresh produce, educational resources, and opportunities for self-sufficiency.

OUR VISION

At Project Roots, we envision a future where every individual has reliable access to fresh, nutritious food and the knowledge to grow, prepare, and advocate for it. Through innovative agriculture and community-driven solutions, we strive to build healthier, more connected, and equitable communities in Arizona, Washington State, and beyond.
